Julie Lomax

Having worked in Halifax, West Yorkshire for a major UK bank in the mortgage fraud area, in 2016 I decided to have a drastic change of career and change in lifestyle and secured a job here in the Algarve, working for an airline.

​

I am now a full-time carer to my husband who unfortunately became disabled in 2021.  We have two grown up sons... one lives in Spain and other has recently joined us.... our seven cats and two horses here in Portugal.

​

I am involved with several charities and offered to help Algarve Network for Families in Need in March 2020 by collecting and distributing food to needy families in Albufeira and surrounding area.  None of us knew at that time, the huge demand there would be.  It was truly humbling to see the appreciation from families who woould not have been able to eat, without our help.

​

It goes without saying that none of this would have been possible without the support of such a great team and our amazing donors, I am proud to continue to be associated with the charity.
